Travel Rules
The rules that apply on a UBoulder bouldering trip: transport, camping, safety and shared agreements.

1. Accident Insurance
It is mandatory to have travel insurance that covers bouldering accidents. Members who do not have travel insurance are not allowed to join. The full cost of the trip may still be charged (see cancellation). You can find more information about insurance on the Travel Insurance page.
2. Cancellation
Signing up and being selected means you are going. Keep your calendar in mind when signing up for a UBoulder trip. If you cancel on time, at least 28 days in advance, the participant does not have to pay the participation costs. If you cancel later, the participant must find a replacement themselves or pay the participation costs proportional to the expenses already incurred.
3. Members comply with local laws and regulations
Members comply with local laws and regulations. This means that it is forbidden to bring drugs or soft drugs on any trip abroad. When consuming alcohol, local laws and regulations are also observed. In addition, it is forbidden to use drugs or alcohol or to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol in the van/car or while climbing.
4. Traffic Fines
Whenever, for whatever reason, a traffic fine is received, the driver will have to reimburse the costs. The driver can, in consultation, share the costs with the rest of the occupants of the van. The same applies to parking fines.
5. Driving Damage
When damage is done to the rented van, the driver must pay €50 of the excess (deductible). The rest of the damage is shared by all participants of the climbing trip in question, unless the board decides otherwise. The deductible is a maximum of €275 per damage incident. In the event of multiple damages, 50% of the additional damages will be covered by the Outdoor commissioner, unless the board decides otherwise.
6. Own Transport Reimbursement
Anyone who brings their own vehicle for a trip organized by UBoulder will receive an expense allowance of €0.04 per kilometer. This allowance, like all other expenses, is settled in Wie Betaalt Wat (see Expenses). Lease cars are not covered by this scheme because there are no maintenance or consumption costs associated with them. An exception to the rule is the summer week. This is due to the decentralized nature of the trip.
7. Own Transport Damage
When damage is done to an own vehicle, a suitable solution will be looked for per incident. We look at direct liability of the driver, an external party, or wear and tear. The rest of the damage is shared by all participants of the climbing trip in question, unless the board decides otherwise.
8. Groceries
The Outdoor commissioner chooses a number of participants who will do groceries for the UBoulder trip. See the information email prior to the trip.
9. Picking up and returning the van
The Outdoor commissioner distributes these tasks randomly, based on the information about who has a driver's license and time. See the information email prior to the trip.
10. Baking Cakes
Members who have not been given a task prior to the weekend are free to bake a cake. There is no reward for this other than everyone liking you a lot.
11. Expenses
Expenses incurred by members, for the purpose of the trip, are paid by all participants of the trip. Expenses must be tracked individually via Wie Betaalt Wat. Keep your receipts for this. Personal purchases and expenses are not covered.
