Going on a UBoulder trip

What we arrange, what it costs, and what you need to bring

UBoulder organizes several bouldering trips every year to destinations like Fontainebleau, Magic Wood, and Albarracín. We arrange transportation, the campsite, and food. The only thing you have to bring yourself is your tent, camping gear, and a good mood!

Climbing level

Our trips are suitable for all types of boulderers, from complete beginners to die-hard climbers. The organization always ensures we visit areas where plenty of boulders are available for all levels.

Why join a trip?

Our bouldering trips offer not only immensely cool boulders but also a lot of fun and the chance to meet other climbers within the club.

Participant responsibilities

All participants of the trip help to make the organization possible. This includes tasks such as getting groceries the day before departure, cooking together, doing the dishes or baking a cake for the group.

Typical schedule & practical information

  • We usually leave early in the morning from a central location in Utrecht. We return late in the evening on the last day.
  • Cost indication: ~€80 for a two-day trip, ~€160 for a four-day trip, and ~€240 for a summer weeklong trip. These are target prices. You pay afterwards for the actual costs incurred for transport, camping, and food.
  • Transport is arranged via carpooling and is included in the trip price.
  • Includes food and use of cooking gear.
  • Bouldering gear (such as crash pads) from the club is included.
  • We stay at a campsite. So make sure you bring your own camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, mat).
  • The trip is organized by volunteers; all participants are asked to contribute during the trip.
  • Registration details are provided per trip. The cancellation policy is one month before departure.
